First and foremost, writing this post made me realize I REALLY need more photos of me and Ridge and then of the three of us. I take random photos almost every week of Juliana and Ridge, but our ‘couple’ and ‘family’ photos are way too few and far between!
Fortunately, as of Saturday Ridge and I officially started wedding planning- which as a small side benefit will result in opportunities to be more consistent with this. 😉 For those of you that have been sharing this blog with me for a while, you know our wedding is a long time coming. Ridge and I met in December of 2011 while living in Hawaii and had Juliana in October of 2013. There’s a lot more to the story so I did a full blog post here– but suffice it to say we both feel incredibly blessed on how things worked out. God was up there looking out for us.
We’d hoped to start wedding planning months ago, but with our move, a promotion – and keeping this blog- things got pushed back a little. Now we’re settled in our new house though, and excited to finally get planning!
With everything going on, Ridge and I decided pretty quickly we wanted to work with a wedding planner to take some stress out of the wedding planning process. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Beyond the Veil here in Charlotte and had our initial consultation with them last Saturday. Toia is the sweetest and we were completely blown away with what we took away from our time with her. I feel like having her help will let us focus on- and have fun with- the more creative aspects of our wedding.
Now for a little confession- I finally spent time on Pinterest tonight looking for Wedding inspiration and I realized I have very little idea what I actually want as far as a theme beyond a color in the blush pink family, chandeliers, chiffon and pretty lighting. Lol! I feel incredibly happy and spoiled to be able to plan our wedding though and I know we’ll figure things out with Toia’s help (and a lot more Pinterest mining!).
Juliana will be almost 5 at our wedding and we want to give her a really special role. We’re still trying to decide exactly what, but I know I want her little boquet to be a smaller version of mine. <3
Sorry I’m rambling a bit, but you guys have come to feel like family and I wanted to share a little bit as we start the wedding planning endeavor. I am so excited to bring you along on the journey from start to finish with lots of behind the scenes action. I want to gear my wedding posts to be helpful for all of you though- whether you’re planning a wedding, participating in one, or looking for event general event inspiration.
PS If you’re curious to see what I’ve found on Pinterest as far as theme and general ideas, you can check it out on this board. Much more to come!
