I hope you lovely gals are having a lovely week! I was up late last night getting the kinks out of my new site design. Surprisingly, not tired today though! There are still a few things I will adjust but it’s mostly there. On thing is for sure- it’s been a steep learning curve for this tech-challenged gal!
Anyway, I feel it’s at the point I can begin posting again; I’ve been so excited to share Sunday’s fur-and-ruffles look plus a how-to for creating the perfect hair bun!
First, the fur 🙂
When it comes to fashion, I love playing with textures and patterns. These elements can create a sophisticated look with even a neutral color palette. I recently found this Natasha Couture clutch (under $50!) and love how its neutral color makes it crazy versatile but the shape/pattern/texture make it a statement piece at the very same time.
The other textured item, this faux fur vest, was practical in Sunday’s chilly weather. I love how faux fur dresses up an outfit and gives it instant luxe…this outfit would look so different without the vest!. When trying my vest on with different tops, I loved the way it looked against a cold shoulder number so I married up the two. I paired this with black pants for contrast and my go-to nude sandals to tie the look together.
Faux fur vest // Clutch // Top (similar here and here) // Jeans-similar (mine are Joe’s jeans purchased from Nordstrom Rack years ago…Nordstromrack.com has an incredible selection of designer jeans at even more incredible prices!
Now…on to the bun! :).
Lately this bun has been my go-to hair style. I wear it when my it’s almost time to wash my hair, or mornings when things are so crazy I don’t have a few minutes to blow dry. My life changed a little the day I discovered this this $6 hair bun secret– and a even more when I discovered a better way to use it. I made a video tutorial you can find here. (I planned to embed it rather than link, but that’s one of the kinks I’m working out!) FYI to my blonde ladies, it also comes in a lighter color, though depending on your hair thickness a darker color might be fine too.
That’s a wrap! What do you guys think of the new layout for FMF? I’d love to hear your suggestions on the site design and the kinds of posts you would like to see more of. Everything on my little blog is a work in progress, from content to site design, and I’d love to hear what you think! Feel free to leave comments below or email me at email@example.com.
Have a wonderful night, ladies!
PS Now that my site it up and running, new content will be coming every Monday/Wednesday/Friday (and maybe some of those days in between, too!)
